Program Information

The
Air Conditioning Technology program is a sequence of
courses designed to prepare a graduate for employment
in the HVAC service and repair profession. The program
provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop,
and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge,
skills, and attitudes required for acquisition, retention,
and advancement. Additionally, the program provides
opportunities to retrain and upgrade present knowledge
and skills. Completion of the program of study leads
to a diploma in Air Conditioning Technology. Students
learn to diagnose and repair malfunctions; size, fabricate
and install air duct systems; and estimate cooling
and heating loads for selection of the most efficient
systems for a given building.
A graduate may find employment in the following service
areas: mechanic,
serviceman, helper, technician, contractor, maintenance mechanic,or power/refrigeration
technician.
