Medical Transcription - Technical
Certificate of Credit

The Medical Transcription TCC program is designed
for those participants seeking entry-level employment as
a medical transcriptionist. The program provides learning
opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce occupational
knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition,
retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides
opportunities to retrain and upgrade present knowledge and
skills. Completion of the program of study leads to a certificate
in Medical Transcription.
PROGRAM LENGTH
A minimum of 30 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student
can expect to complete the program in 2 - 3 quarters.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
A graduate may find employment as a medical transcriptionist
or in related employment.
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
Age: Applicant must
be 16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready or provisional
scores on the ASSET placement test (or
submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores.) Applicants
who do not attain the minimum scores
may take refresher/remedial instruction
in order to meet admissions requirements.
