Assistant -
Technical Certificate of Credit

The purpose of the Early Childhood Care and
Education Assistant technical certificate of credit is to
prepare graduates for entry level positions in a variety
of educational settings. The inclusion of the degree level
general education classes is designed for those entry level
settings that require a higher degree of proficiency in written
and oral communication and for a seamless admission in the
Early Childhood Care and Education degree program.
Length of Program
A minimum of 57 credit hours is required for graduation.
A full time student can expect to
complete the program in 5-6 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as a classroom assistant
in public and private educational facilities and learning
centers.
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
Age: Applicant must
be 16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready or provisional
scores on the ASSET placement test (or
submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores.) Applicants
who do not attain the minimum scores
may take refresher/remedial instruction
in order to meet admissions requirements.
