Program Information

The
Early Childcare program is a sequence of courses designed
to prepare a graduate for entry-level employment as Childcare
Providers. The program provides learning opportunities
which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational
knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition,
retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides
opportunities to retrain or upgrade present knowledge skills.
The Head Start Bureau recognizes that program graduates
are qualified as classroom teachers for employment with
Head Start and pre-kindergarten programs. Completion of
the program of study leads to a diploma in Early Childhood
Care and Education.
A
graduate of this program may find employment as a child
care provider, Head Start and state pre-kindergarten teacher,
teacher's aid, or in related employment.
