The Criminal Justice Records Technician TCC
program is designed for those participants who choose not
to pursue the full diploma or degree program in Criminal
Justice Technology. The certificate prepares a graduate for
entry-level employment in the administrative aspects of criminal
justice. The program provides learning opportunities which
introduce, develop, and reinforce occupational knowledge,
skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention,
and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities
to retrain and upgrade present knowledge and skills. Completion
of the program of study leads to a Criminal Justice Records
Technician certificate.
PROGRAM LENGTH
A minimum of 28 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student
can expect to complete the program in 2-3 quarters.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
A graduate may find employment as a record technician,
data entry specialist, data analyst, or may pursue opportunities
in criminal justice professions.
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
Age: Applicant must
be 16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready or provisional
scores on the ASSET placement test (or
submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores.) Applicants
who do not attain the minimum scores
may take refresher/remedial instruction
in order to meet admissions requirements.
