The purpose of the Criminal Justice Technician
TCC is to prepare graduates for an entry level management
position in a variety of law enforcement settings including
local police and sheriff’s departments, corrections
agencies, and probation offices. The inclusion of the degree
level general education classes is designed for those entry
level settings that require a higher degree of proficiency
in written and oral communication and for a seamless admission
in the CRJ degree program.
Length of Program
A minimum of 58 credit hours is required for graduation.
A full time student can expect to
complete the program in 5-6 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find entry-level employment with police
and sheriff’s departments, corrections agencies, probation
offices, and other law enforcement agencies or related fields.
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
Age: Applicant must
be 16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready or provisional
scores on the ASSET placement test (or
submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores.) Applicants
who do not attain the minimum scores
may take refresher/remedial instruction
in order to meet admissions requirements.
