Basic Electronics II - Technical
Certificate of Credit

The Basic Electronics II certificate program
is a sequence of courses designed to prepare the
student for employment above the entry-level. The program
provides learning opportunities in
DC and AC analysis, solid-state circuits, and digital circuits.
The program also focuses on
developing industrial electrical diagnostic and problem solving
skills. Program graduates may
apply this program towards advanced study in the field of
industrial electronics.
Length of Program
A minimum of 29 credit hours is required for graduation.
A full time student can expect to
complete the program in 2-3 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
Students are prepared for advancement beyond entry-level
positions as PLC technicians,
Industrial Electrical Technicians, and other positions
requiring advanced study in industrial
electronics control and instrumentation.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be 16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready or provisional
scores on the ASSET
placement test (or submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores). Applicants who
do not attain the minimum scores
may
take refresher/remedial instruction in order to meet admissions requirements.
