The Electronic Control and Instrumentation
technical certificate of credit program is designed to
provide learning opportunities in the basics of electronic
control instrumentation and factor
automation. Students receive training in process control,
programmable logic control (PLC) and
instrumentation. Program graduates may apply these courses
toward advanced study in the field
and are prepared for entry-level jobs in a variety of industrial
settings.
Length of Program
A minimum of 25 credit hours is required for graduation.
A full time student can expect to
complete the program in 2 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates are prepared for entry-level positions as a PLC
Technician or Industrial Electrical
Technician in a variety of industrial settings.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be 16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program
ready or provisional
scores on
the ASSET
placement test (or submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores). Applicants
who do not attain the
minimum scores
may
take refresher/remedial instruction in order to meet admissions
requirements.
