Public Safety - Technical Certificate
of Credit

The objective of the Public Safety certificate is to teach
the skills required to work in entry-level positions in the
Fire Science and Criminal Justice fields. Students will benefit
from having completed college courses specifically covering
public safety when being interviewed for such positions in
the fire science and law enforcement field. Additionally,
having completed this course work might qualify the student
for educational incentives once the student begins employment.
Length of Program
A minimum of 26 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student
can expect to complete the program in 2-3 quarters.

public safety when being interviewed for such positions in the fire science
and law enforcement field.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be
16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is not required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program-ready or provisional
scores on the ASSET placement test (or
submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores). Applicants
who do not attain the minimum scores
may take refresher/remedial instruction
in order to meet admissions requirements.
