Advanced PLC
Technician - Technical Certificate of Credit

The Advanced PLC certificate is designed to prepare graduates
of the Electronics Program,
Industrial Maintenance - Electrical, and Electrical Control
Systems for continued careers in
recent technology advancement. The program emphasizes a combination
of programming
theory, electronics theory and practical applications for
process control utilizing PLC with a
variety of sensors and actuators communicating over industry
standard busses. Program
Graduates receive an Advanced PLC Certificate.
Length of Program
A minimum of 31 credit hours is required for graduation.
A full time student can expect to
complete the program in 3-4 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates of the Advanced PLC certificate program are prepared
for positions above entry-level
and/or career advancement in the fields of industrial
maintenance and electrical control systems.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be
16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma or its equivalent is not
required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready or provisional
scores on the ASSET placement test
(or submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores).
Applicants
who do not attain the minimum scores
may take refresher/remedial instruction
in order to meet admissions requirements.
