Machine Tool Technology -
Diploma

The Machine Tool Technology diploma program
is a sequence of courses designed to prepare graduates for
entry-level employment as machine tool technicians. The program
provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop,
and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills,
and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention and
advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities
to retrain and upgrade present knowledge and skills. Completion
of the program of study leads to a diploma in Machine Tool
Technology.
Length of Program
A minimum of 85 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student
can expect to complete the program
in 5 - 6 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as a machine tool technician or in a related field.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be 16
years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is not required for admissions;
however, it is required for graduation.
GED prep courses are available at no charge for those who need the service prior
to GED testing.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready or provisional
scores on the ASSET placement test (or
submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores). Applicants
who do not attain the minimum scores may
take refresher/remedial instruction in
order to meet admissions requirements.
