Medical Coding - Technical
Certificate of Credit

The Medical Coding TCC program provides is a sequence of
courses designed to prepare graduates for employment in the
medical field. The program provides learning opportunities
which introduce, develop, and reinforce occupational knowledge,
skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention,
and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities
to retrain and upgrade present knowledge and skills. Completion
of the program of study leads to a certificate in Medical
Coding.
Length of Program
A minimum of 35 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student
can expect to complete the program in 3-4 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
A graduate of this program will be qualified for a position in a medical office.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be
16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready status on
the ASSET placement test (or submit acceptable
SAT/ACT scores.) Applicants who do not
attain the minimum scores must take refresher/remedial
instruction in order to meet admissions
requirements before entering the program.
