Phlebotomy Technician - Technical
Certificate of Credit

The Phlebotomy Technician TCC program is a sequence of courses
that prepares graduates for entry-level employment as phlebotomy
technicians. The program provides learning opportunities
which introduce, develop, and reinforce occupational knowledge,
skills, and attitudes necessary for job acquisition, retention,
and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities
to retrain and upgrade present knowledge and skills. Completion
of the program of study leads to a certificate as a Phlebotomy
Technician. Program graduates are eligible to sit for a National
Registry of Certified Phlebotomy Technicians examination.
Length of Program
A minimum of 20 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time/program
ready student can expect to complete
the program in 2 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as a phlebotomy technician or related employment.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be
16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready or provisional
scores on the ASSET placement test (or
submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores). Applicants
who do not attain the minimum scores
may take refresher/remedial instruction
in order to meet admissions requirements.
