Blown Film Manufacturing Specialist -
Technical Certificate of Credit

The
Blown Film Manufacturing Specialist technical certificate
of credit program is designed to prepare individuals
for entry level employment in the blown film processing
area of the plastics industry. Students in the program
develop skills in plastics blown film processing, quality
control, and industrial safety. Graduates of the program
are qualified as blown film specialists in a variety
of plastics processing industries. The certificate may
be applied to the continued study in the Plastics Technology
degree program.
Length of Program
A minimum of 18 credit hours is required for graduation.
A full time student can expect to
complete the program in 1-2 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as a blown film manufacturing
specialist in a variety of plastics processing industries.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be
16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready scores
on the ASSET placement test (or submit
acceptable SAT/ACT scores). Applicants
who do not
attain the minimum scores may take
refresher/remedial instruction in
order
to meet admissions
requirements.
