Extrusion Specialist -
Technical Certificate of Credit

The Extrusion Specialist technical certificate of credit
program is designed to prepare individuals for entry level
employment in the extrusion processing area of the plastics
industry. Students in the program develop skills in plastics
extrusion processing, quality control, and industrial safety.
Graduates of the program are qualified as extrusion specialists
in a variety of plastics processing industries. The certificate
may be applied to the continued study in the Plastics Technology
degree program.
Length of Program
A minimum of 18 credit hours is required for graduation.
A full time student can expect to
complete the program in 1-2 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
Graduates are prepared for entry-level employment as an
extrusion specialist in a variety of plastics processing
industries.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be
16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready scores
on the ASSET placement test (or submit
acceptable SAT/ACT scores). Applicants
who do not
attain the minimum scores may take
refresher/remedial instruction in
order
to meet admissions
requirements.
