Radiologic Technology - Associate of Applied Science Degree

The Radiologic Technology associate degree program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for positions in Radiology departments and related businesses and industries. Learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of didactic and clinical instruction necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive an AAS degree in Radiologic Technology, have the qualifications of a radiographer, and are eligible to sit for a national certification examination for radiographers.

PROGRAM LENGTH
A minimum of 135 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student can expect to complete the program in 10 quarters.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
A graduate may find employment as a radiographer.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Age: Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
Education: A high school diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate is required.
Other: Must provide documentation of a physical examination. Applicant must complete prerequisite (*) courses before entry into the program. Acceptance into the program is on a competitive selection basis.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant must achieve program ready or provisional scores on the ASSET placement test (or submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores.) Applicants who do not attain the minimum scores may take refresher/remedial instruction in order to meet admissions requirements.
