Commercial Truck Driving - Technical Certificate of Credit

The Commercial Truck Driving TCC program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare graduates for employment as a commercial truck driver. The program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Completion of the program of study leads to a certificate in Commercial Truck Driving.

Length of Program

A minimum of 15 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student can expect to complete the program in one quarter.

Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as a Commercial Truck Driver upon completion of this certificate program. Tuition and Fees Tuition and fees for the Commercial Truck Driving certificate program is $1,940.00 Other fees may apply. Check with the Admissions Office for details. Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be 18 years or older to take the course and drive intrastate (within Georgia) only. Applicants 21 years of age or older are eligible to drive interstate.
Education: A high school diploma/GED is not required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant must achieve program-ready or provisional scores on the ASSET placement test (or submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores). However, prior to beginning occupational classes, all developmental work must be successfully completed. Applicants must submit a 7-year motor vehicle record (MVR) with no more than eight (8) points or four (4) moving violations and no DUI’s within the past five (5) years. Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license, submit a D.O.T. physical and drug screen 30 days prior to the beginning of class, and show proof of personal accident insurance. (Drug screen must not be older than 30 days.)
