Coach Niki Okolovitch

After graduation, Niki decided to take his love and knowledge of basketball into the field of behavioral sciences.  He spent 10 years working with autistic children and troubled youth in residential treatment facilities.  He implemented basketball based treatment programs focusing on the principles of hard work, dedication, and teamwork that create good athletes and foremost create successful people.  He now works as a Deputy Sheriff with the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office.

Niki was an assistant on last year’s team under current athletics and recreation coordinator, Walter Dunson.  Since finishing his playing days, he has kept himself close to the court.  His coaching experience has included consulting with player development on the high school level, coaching in youth leagues, and involvement in player camps.  His focus has always been to use basketball as a tool to attain your goals, not as your goal.  He teaches that success in basketball is achieved in three ways: academic, community, and lastly on the court.  Using basketball to create successful, caring, and respectful individuals are his primary concerns for his players.

Niki Okolovitch returns to the Golden Knights athletics staff in his new role as the Head Coach for the Men’s Basketball team.
