  WorkKeys

West Georgia Technical College is a WorkKeys Service Center licensed by ACT, Inc. WorkKeys is a nationally recognized system of workplace skills measurement. This system is used across the southeast and the USA by many companies for workplace skills assessment and gap training. Among the services offered by WGTC are a certified WorkKeys profiler and assessment specialist.

Creighton Kelly – WorkKeys Profiler 706-756-4625
Gill Ausman – WorkKeys Assessor 706-756-4590

There are three major components of the WorkKeys system.

1. Evaluation of job requirements in key skill areas (Profiling).

2. Assessment of work place skills (job readiness) required for a specific job (WorkKeys Assessments).

3. Training program(s) to improve the skills needed to function effectively in the work place (WIN Training).

Workplace skills measured using WorkKeys include:

Reading for Information
Applied Mathematics
Locating Information
Applied Technology
Listening
Writing
Observation
Teamwork
Work Habits

To encourage participation in building a better workforce, the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development has made arrangements with Georgia’s technical colleges to offer free assessments for any Georgia citizen in the first three categories above.

WIN Training

WIN training is offered at no charge for students who score below WorkKeys approved scales in reading for information, applied mathematics, and locating information. This training is available through the Adult Literacy Department at WGTC. It is designed specifically for those skills/objectives assessed by Work Keys. It is a self-paced, computer-based course.
