  Graduation Information

A GED or high school diploma will not be required for admission to the college or to a program area unless specified by state standards. However, prior to graduation, students in all associate degree, diploma, and certain certificate programs must submit an official GED or high school transcript to the Admission Office.

To be eligible for graduation, a student must do the following:

• Receive a passing or satisfactory grade for all courses listed in the appropriate curriculum or accepted as transfer credit from another college.

• Earn a minimum GPA of 2.00.

• Meet any other program-specific requirements which have been approved by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

• Fulfill all financial obligations to West Georgia Technical College and remove any “holds” on records.

• Complete an application for graduation no later than mid-term of the quarter immediately prior to the last anticipated quarter of study. If a student fails to meet all the graduation requirements after applying for a specific date, the student must reapply for graduation.

• Students will be awarded the highest credential earned. If a diploma is attained, certificates will not be awarded as well nor will a diploma be awarded if the associate degree is achieved.

• Pay required costs of graduation that are incurred by the student.
