Accreditation

West Georgia Technical College is accredited by Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Ga., 404-679-4501) to award the Associate of Applied Science Degree, the Diploma, and the Technical Certificate.

West Georgia Technical College is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education to award the Associate of Applied Science degree, diploma, and technical certificate. The Radiologic Technology program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, 20 N. Wacker Drive, Suite 2850, Chicago, IL 60606-3182, (312) 704- 5300.

The Practical Nursing program is approved by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Licensed Practical Nursing.

The Automotive Technology program is certified in all training areas from the National Institute for American Service Excellence (ASE).

West Georgia Technical College Medical Assisting Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (CRB-AAMAE). The Cosmetology program is approved by the State Board of Cosmetology.

The mission of West Georgia Technical College is to provide certificate, diploma and associate degree learning opportunities for workforce development through the delivery of technical education programs both locally and at a distance, as well as to provide service to the community through adult literacy programs, customized training and economic development partnerships.

student learning environment is marked by access to industry-standard instructional equipment,
a variety of associated learning resources, and a physical environment that is conducive to the
learning process.

Guarantee

The Technical College System of Georgia has developed curriculum standards with the direct involvement of business and industry. These standards serve as the industry-validated specifications for each program of study and allow West Georgia Technical College to offer its business partners this guarantee:

"If one of our graduates, who was educated under a standard program and his or her employer agree that the employee is deficient in one or more competencies as defined in the standards, West Georgia Technical College will retrain that employee at no instructional cost to employee or employer."

This guarantee applies to any graduate employed in his or her field of study. It includes failure to pass a State of Georgia required licensing examination and is in effect for two years after graduation.
