Program Information

The
Accounting program at West Georgia Technical College
is a sequence of courses designed to prepare a graduate for
entry-level
employment
as
an
accounting assistant. The program provides learning opportunities
which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and
occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required
for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. Additionally,
the program provides opportunities to retrain or upgrade
present knowledge skills. Completion of the program of
study leads to a diploma or an Associate's Degree in
Accounting.
A graduate of this program will be qualified for positions working with payroll,
accounts payable, accounts receivable, insurance, income
tax preparation, general
ledger, and cost accounting.
