Automotive Technology Diploma
 


Program Description

The Automotive Technology diploma program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare a graduate for employment in the automotive service and repair profession. The program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to retrain and upgrade present knowledge and skills. Completion of the program of study leads to a diploma in Automotive Technology. Program graduates are eligible to take competency test offered by The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.

Length of Program
A minimum of 103 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student can expect to complete the program in 7 - 8 quarters.

Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as an automotive technician qualified in the following service areas: engine repair, engine performance, automatic transmission/transaxle, manual drive train and axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, and heating/air conditioning.
