Automatic
Transmission/Transaxle Repair - Technical Certificate

The Automatic Transmission/Transaxle Repair technical certificate
of credit program is designed for those participants who
choose not to pursue the full diploma program in Automotive
Technology. It consists of a sequence of courses that prepares
a graduate for entry-level employment in automatic transmission/
transaxle repair. The program provides learning opportunities
which introduce, develop, and reinforce occupational knowledge,
skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention,
and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities
to retrain and upgrade present knowledge and skills. Completion
of the program of study leads to a certificate in Automotive
Transmission/Transaxle Repair.
Length of Program
A minimum of 23 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student
can expect to complete the program in 2 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as an automatic transmission/transaxle repair
technician or in related employment.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be
16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is not required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Admissions
testing is not required for entrance
into this certificate program.
