Program Information

The Automotive Technology program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare a graduate for employment in the automotive service and repair profession. The program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for acquisition, retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to retrain and upgrade present knowledge and skills. Completion of the program of study leads to a diploma in Automotive Technology. Program graduates are eligible to take competency test offered by the National Institute of Automotive Excellence.

A graduate may find employment as an automotive technician qualified in the following service areas: engine repair, automatic transmission/transaxle, manual drive train, front end, brakes, electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, and engine performance.
