Computer Networking Technician -
Technical Certificate of Credit

The purpose of the Computer Networking Technician
technical certificate of credit program is to prepare graduates
for an entry level position in informational technology in
both business and industry settings. Graduates are competent
in the operating systems, networking fundamentals, and program
design and development. The inclusion of the degree level
general education classes is designed for those entry level
settings that require a higher degree of proficiency in written
and oral communication and for a seamless admission in the
Computer Networking degree program.
Length of Program
A minimum of 51 credit hours is required for graduation.
A full time student can expect to
complete the program in 5-6 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as a technician trained
in installation, operation, and
maintenance of computers.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be
16 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready or provisional
scores on the ASSET placement test (or
submit acceptable SAT/ACT scores). Applicants
who do not attain the minimum scores
may take refresher/remedial instruction
in order to meet admissions requirements.
