Program
Description
The Medical Assisting Diploma program prepares
students for employment in a variety of positions
in today's medical offices. The Medical Assisting
program provides learning opportunities which
introduce, develop, and reinforce academic
and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes
required for job acquisition, retention, and
advancement. Program graduates receive a Diploma
in Medical Assisting and are eligible to sit
for a national certification examination for
Medical Assistants.
Length of Program
A minimum of 83 credit hours is required for
graduation. A full time student can expect
to complete the program in 6 quarters.
Employment
Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as a phlebotomist,
EKG technician, physical therapy aide, medical
office receptionist, medical records clerk,
medical assistant or in related employment.
