Practical Nursing -
Diploma

The Practical Nursing diploma program is a sequence of courses
designed to prepare graduates for entry-level employment
as a practical nurse. The program provides learning opportunities
which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational
knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition,
retention, and advancement. Completion of the program of
study leads to a diploma in Practical Nursing. Program graduates
are eligible to sit for State Board licensure examination.*
Length of Program
A minimum of 92 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student
can expect to complete the program in 6 - 7 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as a practical nurse or in related employment.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be
17 years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Applicant
must achieve program ready status on
the ASSET placement test (or submit acceptable
SAT/ACT scores.) Applicants who do not
attain the minimum scores must take refresher/remedial
instruction in order to meet admissions
requirements before entering the program.
