Basic Welding Specialist - Technical
Certificate of Credit

The Basic Welding Specialist TCC program is designed for
those students who choose not to pursue the full diploma
program in Welding & Joining Technology. consists of
a sequence of courses that prepares a graduate for entry-level
employment in the welding field. The program provides learning
opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce occupational
knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition,
retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides
opportunities to retrain and upgrade present knowledge and
skills. Completion of the program of study leads to a certificate
in Basic Welding with a specialization in shielded metal
arc welding, gas metal arc welding, and gas tungsten arc
welding.
Length of Program
A minimum of 25 credit hours is required for graduation. A full time student
can expect to complete the program in 2 - 3 quarters.
Employment Opportunities
A graduate may find employment as a shielded metal arc welder, gas metal arc
welder, gas tungsten arc welder, or in related employment.
Admissions Requirements
Age: Applicant must be 16
years or older.
Education: A high school
diploma/GED is not required.
Program Acceptance/Placement: Admissions
testing is not required for entrance into
this certificate program.
