The Emergency Medical Services program prepares students for employment in EMT positions in
today's health services field. The Emergency Medical Services Technology program provides learning opportunities that
introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required
for job acquisition, retention, and advancement.
The EMS programs provide opportunities to acquire or upgrade knowledge and skills through basic and intermediate levels of training in emergency medical services. Graduates of each program receive a Technical Certificate of Credit and are eligible to sit for the corresponding National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification examination.
The Emergency Medical Technician program prepares students for employment in EMT positions in today’s health services field. Employment of emergency medical technicians is expected to increase by 13.8% in the next ten years. Population growth and urbanization will increase the demand for full-time paid EMTs.
