What Do We Do?

West Georgia Technical College Adult Education and GED® Testing offers a wide array of services to help you complete steps toward your educational goals.

  • We offer free adult education classes with flexible schedules to help you prepare and take the GED® test.
  • We administer the GED®test in a variety of locations.
  • We offer Learning Support classes to assist with college admission.
  • For non English speaking students, we also offer free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.

FREE GED® CLASSES

GED Classes are FREE and open to anyone 16 years old and over. Registration Section for class registration schedules.

To start your free GED® classes select the location below where you'd like to attend and classes to find out dates and times for registration. West Georgia Tech Adult Education offers flexible schedules for morning, afternoon, and evening classes.

If you are 18 or over, all you will need is a government issued photo ID to get started. If you are 16 or 17, you will need a withdrawal form from your last high school (unless homeschooled), your ID, and a parent or guardian must attend the registration session with you.

GED® Classes

GED® Testing


REGISTER FOR THE GED® TEST

To register for the GED® test go to www.ged.com or call 1-877-EXAM-GED. Test dates are ongoing and can be accessed by logging into the registration site. If you have problems with the online registration or if you do not have access to a computer; then call 1-877-EXAM-GED and PearsonVue will help you with the registration process.


GED® TEST FEES

The fee for the complete GED® test is $160. Each individual subject test is $40 for a total of four tests: Reasoning through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies. You do not have to register for the full test at one time. You may register for individual tests and a payment of $40 per subject test will be required at the time of registration. All payments must be paid through the PearsonVue registration system.

All WGTC GED® Pearson Test centers listed above accept walk-in testers. You need to already have created your profile at www.ged.com completely before coming to the site. You must bring a non-expired, state-issued ID and a debit or credit card for test fee payment.

GED® Frequently Asked Questions

Free classes are available for anyone 16 and over with proper identification.
You must be 18 or over to register. If you are 16 or 17, you must attend free GED® classes first and obtain the underage approval from your instructor.
You will have to bring an unexpired, government issued photo ID in order to attend classes.

Test fees are required at the time of registration.
If you attend the free classes, there will be opportunities for scholarships.
Yes, you can take the GED test in Spanish at any of our GED testing labs.
Yes, but only with an approved accommodation.
In order to receive accommodations for testing due to a disability, you must complete the necessary paperwork and receive approval for accommodations from GEDTS in Washington. The paperwork can be found at http://www.gedtestingservice.com/testers/accomodations-for-disability.

Request a Transcript/Diploma

Transcripts must be issued from the Georgia GED Testing Program and can be requested online, by mail, or in person.  Click on the link below to learn how to request a transcript.
