Heroes for Hope 5K
DATE CHANGE TO SEPTEMBER 26, 2020
After thoughtful consideration, we’ve made the decision to postpone our Heroes for Hope 5K scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2020. We appreciate the city of Carrollton working with us quickly to re-schedule for Saturday, September 26, 2020. All other details—time, location, and all the fun—will remain the same, and we look forward to safely celebrating the event’s success with you at that time.
We would like to make three options available to you as a participant in the 5K:
1. Transfer your registration to the new date of September 26
2. Consider your registration fee a donation to the Frances Biggs Hope for Tomorrow Nursing Scholarship
3. Refund you your registration fee
Please notify us of your selection by April 17 at: Stephanie.email@example.com. If we do not hear from you, we will automatically transfer your registration to the new date.
If your registration was included in your company or organization’s sponsorship, please consult your organization’s point of contact. All sponsors received a similar e-mail earlier today detailing the options available to them.
Many thanks in advance for your patience and understanding, and most especially, for your support as we fundraise for the Frances Biggs Hope for Tomorrow Nursing Scholarship fund. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
West Georgia Technical College Foundation and the School of Nursing at West Georgia Technical College are proud to present Heroes for Hope 5K! This event is being held in the memory of Frances Biggs and in support of the Frances Biggs Hope for Tomorrow Nursing Scholarship at. The event will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Hobbs Farm Greenbelt course.
The Frances Biggs Hope for Tomorrow Nursing Scholarship was established to honor the legacy of WGTC student Frances Biggs who passed away in 2018. Frances was a bright light that warmed everyone who knew her. She had recently completed her Certified Nursing Aid (CNA) program and was passionate about caring for those entrusted her care. Frances worked diligently to pursue her certification and worked two jobs, including one at her beloved Carrollton Nursing and Rehab Center. In memory of Frances’s hardworking and giving nature, the CNA program at WGTC and WGTC Foundation have established a scholarship in her name, the Frances Biggs Hope for Tomorrow Nursing Scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to alleviate educational costs and remove personal financial barriers from a student’s life as they pursue a career in nursing. We are hosting the inaugural Heroes for Hope 5K to raise additional scholarship funding. The event is superhero themed as Frances loved superheroes, especially Captain America! We’ll ask runners to don their best superhero attire and even have a special prize for the best costume.
