Alan 4CARROLLTON, GA – West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) is proud to announce the promotion of Alan Threadgill to Associate Dean of the School of Manufacturing, Transportation, and Trades (MTT). In his new role, Threadgill will oversee academic programming and strategic initiatives for one of the college’s most vital and growing divisions.

Since joining WGTC in 2021 as Program Director for Electrical Systems Technology at the Carroll Campus, he has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership and a deep understanding of both student and industry needs.

“I’m incredibly honored to step into this new role,” said Threadgill. “My focus will be on expanding access to high-quality education, building strong partnerships with industry, and equipping students with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in today’s economy. We have an amazing team at WGTC, and I’m excited about what we’ll accomplish together.”

In addition to leading the Electrical Systems program, Threadgill has spearheaded several grant-funded initiatives, including the Metallica Scholars Initiative, which provided hands-on training and enhanced student success in the skilled trades.

“Alan brings with him a wealth of experience and a passion for workforce development that will be instrumental as we continue to expand and elevate our MTT programs,” said Lucinda Montgomery, Dean of the School of Manufacturing, Transportation & Trades. “His vision, energy, and dedication make him a valuable addition to our leadership team.”
