WGTC Department of Adult Education offers FREE High School Equivalency (high school equivalency) GED or HiSET test preparation, career exploration, workplace readiness training, and dual enrollment in our college program.
Earn your high school equivalency diploma for FREE. The HOPE High School Equivalency Examination Grant is now available to qualified Georgians to cover the cost of their GED test. Visit www.HSEtest4Free.com to apply!

Registration Process:
- Please arrive 10 minutes early with proper identification and plan to remain the entire session. *Children who are not being registered for classes are not allowed to attend registration.
- All students must have a valid state-issued ID to register. Types of ID may include Driver’s license Identification card issued by the United States.
- If you are 16 or 17: Bring a withdrawal form from your last high school and a parent or guardian must attend registration with you.
- Please be aware that registration and testing will take up to 3 hours.

GED vs. HiSET
The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) now offers multiple options for achieving your high school equivalency. Two computer-based testing (CBT) pathways are available through testing centers or proctored at home: the GED® test or the HiSET® exam.

Eligible Georgia residents can now apply for an award not to exceed $200 to cover the cost of the GED® examination. The HOPE HSE Grant is available once per subject area exam to those who qualify.
