Returning Student

Previously enrolled West Georgia Technical College, West Central Technical College, Carroll Technical Institute, and Troup Technical Institute students will fall into one of the categories listed below. Please identify the category into which you fall and complete the steps listed below.

Have Not Attended Classes in Two Semesters

If you have not attended WGTC in two semesters or more:

  1. Complete a new Application for Admission, but are not required to pay the $25 application fee.
  2. You may have to complete the Accuplacer exam if you do not have class credit to exempt the test.
  3. It is possible you will need to submit transcripts to complete your file.
  4. You may have to present additional documentation to complete the application process.  Complete a current verification of lawful presence.
  5. Receive acceptance letter and final instructions from the WGTC Admissions Office

Helpful Hints:

  • Returning students must complete the paper application to avoid the $25 application fee that is required with the online application.
  • The application process for financial aid is separate.
  • A transcript is official if it is delivered to WGTC (by mail or in person) in the same sealed envelope it was placed in by the issuing institution. Transcripts can also be sent using an approved, secure electronic transcript sending service.
  • Students who graduated from a school outside the U.S. are required to submit an official evaluation of their transcript completed by an approved evaluation agency.

Have Not Attended Classes in More Than Five Years

Official transcripts and test scores are maintained on file for five years. Course history is maintained indefinitely.  If you have not attended WGTC in five or more years, you will need to complete the following steps.

  1. Submit a new Application for Admission. No application fee is required.  Print your application.
  2. Submit an official high school or high school equivalency transcript.
  3. If you attended any other post-secondary college or school, submit an official transcript from each college attended.
  4. Provide verification of lawful presence to qualify for in-state tuition.
  5. Your WGTC course history and other transcripts will be reviewed to determine whether you need to complete the Accuplacer placement test.
  6. Receive acceptance letter and final instructions from the WGTC Admissions Office
