Learn-2-Earn is an integrated education and training program that focuses on impacting individuals through short-term education and training programs designed to quickly move participants toward securing and sustaining a livable wage. Targeted, contextualized classes through West Georgia Technical College’s Adult Education Program are designed to help individuals successfully pass the GED® exam, align with short-term industry recognized training, and be successful in the workforce.

Integrated Education and Training (IET)

Integrated education and training program are focused on impacting individuals through short-term education and training programs, which are designed to quickly move participants toward securing and sustaining a livable wage. Targeted, contextualized classes through West Georgia Technical College’s Adult Education Program are designed to help individuals successfully pass the GED® or HiSet exam, align with short-term industry recognized training, and be successful in the workforce.

This program is designed to provide Adult Education students with a fast-paced learning experience that combines High School Equivalency test preparation and courses to attain an industry-recognized certification and/or Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) within one/two semesters.

Support services are available for all students transitioning into college classes (Application, Entrance Exam Preparation, Financial Aid, Admissions, Registration and Career Services).

These Certificates are the first step along the pathway to a Diploma and a Degree and have been selected because of the workforce demands in these fields:

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Childcare Development Associate
• Commercial Truck Driving (CDL)
• Entrepreneurship and Small Business
• Forklift & OSHA 10
• Guest Service and Hospitality
• Manufacturing Basics
• Welding (Fall semester start only)

The instructors work together as a team to ensure the student has the support needed to successfully complete the coursework at an accelerated rate.

Career Pathway – Students that have demonstrated the ability to complete the academic demands of taking both High School Equivalency and College Classes have the option to apply for programs that start in Fall, Spring, or Summer Semester.

Requirements for eligible participants:

• Enrollment and regular attendance in WGTC’s Adult Education Program
• A Government Issued, Photo ID
• A current driver’s license (for CDL and Forklift certifications)
• Georgia Residency
