West Georgia Technical College Celebrates Record Number of Graduates in Academic Year 2025
CARROLLTON, GA – West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) is celebrating a historic milestone with the largest graduating class in the college’s history. For Academic Year 2025 (AY25), the number of WGTC graduates increased by nearly 20 percent over the previous year—continuing a three-year upward trend in student achievement and workforce readiness.
In total, the college conferred 4,125 awards, including degrees, diplomas, and technical certificates of credit—an impressive 32.2 percent increase from the prior year.
“This record-breaking achievement is a reflection of the hard work and perseverance of our students, as well as the dedication of our faculty and staff who support them every step of the way,” said Dr. Julie Post, President of West Georgia Technical College. “We are incredibly proud of our graduates and the impact they are making in their communities and local workforce.”
The record gains made in AY25 also reflect early momentum toward Governor Brian Kemp’s Top State for Talent initiative, which is shaping Georgia’s future workforce by uniting education, business, and economic development partners around a shared vision—to make Georgia not only the top state for business, but the top state for talent. As more Georgians choose the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) for the training that leads to rewarding, high-demand careers, WGTC continues to play a vital role in preparing students for success.
WGTC continues to see growth across all seven of its campuses, driven by expanded program offerings, strong partnerships with business and industry, and a continued emphasis on hands-on, career-focused education.
“Our mission is to prepare students for success in high-demand careers,” Dr. Post added. “As more students recognize the value of technical education, we are seeing the results not only in enrollment growth but in record numbers of graduates ready to meet the needs of Georgia’s employers.”
West Georgia Technical College, with campuses in Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, and Troup counties and class sites in Heard and Meriwether counties, offers more than 120 associate degree, diploma, and technical certificate programs of study. A unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, West Georgia Tech is one of the largest of the state’s 22 technical colleges. For more information, please visit www.westgatech.edu.
