WGTC Welcomes Two New Members to Board of Directors

CARROLLTON, GA – West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to its board of directors. Blake Doss and Scott Ingram were sworn in at the August board meeting and officially begin service this month.

The West Georgia Technical College Board of Directors is composed of members nominated for their positions by area industry and educational officials and then selected and approved by the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia. The board’s purpose is to advise on program direction, serve as a check and balance for the development and implementation of college goals, objectives, policies and procedures, and advocate within the community issues on of importance to the technical college system and Georgia’s workforce development efforts.

“Blake and Scott bring a wealth of professional expertise, strong community connections, and a passion for workforce development,” said WGTC President Dr. Julie Post. “Their unique perspectives and leadership will help guide our efforts to provide high-quality education and training that meet the needs of both students and employers across our region.”

Blake Doss, director of state government affairs for GreyStone Power Corporation, develops and maintains relationships with government officials, chambers of commerce, economic development groups, and talent pipeline partners. He joined GreyStone in 2022 after more than six years as a policy analyst with the Georgia House Budget and Research Office, where he staffed key committees including Energy, Utilities, and Telecommunications. A former newspaper reporter for the Rome News-Tribune, Blake holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of West Georgia and is a graduate of the SAGE program and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program. He serves as chair of the Douglas County Chamber Government Affairs Council and is former chair of the Paulding County Chamber Government Affairs Council.

Scott Ingram, site operations manager for Google’s Lithia Springs Data Center, brings 17 years of experience at Google and a proven record of building high-performing teams, expanding critical infrastructure, and partnering with technical and community colleges to address workforce needs. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran and recognized technical expert, he has delivered infrastructure capacity for five Google campuses across three countries. Locally, Scott has collaborated with West Georgia Technical College and the Douglas County Chamber to develop talent pipelines for the growing data center industry, reflecting his commitment to aligning education with real-world employment opportunities.

Both Doss and Ingram will represent Douglas County on the board, joining other leaders from across WGTC’s seven-county service area in advancing the college’s mission to build a skilled and thriving workforce.

West Georgia Technical College, with campuses in Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, and Troup counties and class sites in Heard and Meriwether counties, offers more than 120 associate degree, diploma, and technical certificate programs of study.
