I chose Early Childhood Care and Education at WGTC because I want to shape young lives and help children grow, knowing those early years are where it all begins. My experience has been incredible. The program and instructors have built my confidence and made student teaching truly meaningful. Being part of the classroom each day, you build strong relationships with students and become more than a student teacher—you become a role model they look up to.

One of my favorite things about working at WGTC is that I get to work with most departments in some way. It has given me the chance to see how much our faculty and staff truly care about our students. I love that the events I am a part of are creating a positive impact.

My internship with Aubrey Silvey gave me the experience of working in a professional engineering environment while still in school has been extremely valuable. I've been able to understand the different aspects of project management and getting a practical grip on how engineers contribute to a project.

As a Metallica Scholar, I was given so many opportunities through my internship with Alta Refrigeration. It showed me what being in the field is really like, automatically providing me with an equal opportunity to learn and advance my skills as a welder.

As a disabled Army Veteran, husband, and father of three, my journey in Business Technology has taught me about adapting to the world around us. Technology is always changing and there are new advances at every turn. I am hoping after graduation to use my degree to start my own business.

In Student Life, we love seeing the students faces or hearing words of gratitude when we come to the campus with activities, food and freebies that seem to brighten their entire day or being there cheering them on in a competition they worked so hard for or mentoring and seeing them become better versions of themselves.

During my program, I became much more confident in my skills and my decision-making, especially through my clinical rotations at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta. I learned how valuable it is to form strong relationships with coworkers, mentors, and patients.
