Metallica Scholars Grant
West Georgia Technical College is proud to partner with Metallica’s foundation, All Within My Hands, whose support has made a meaningful and measurable difference for our students. To date, the foundation has contributed $125,000 to help remove financial barriers that can delay entry into high-demand careers. Through this investment, WGTC has supported 250 students and counting by providing essential tools, paid internship opportunities, and work-ready clothing—resources that help students start work sooner, stay on track in their programs, and transition into the workforce faster. This grant strengthens our ability to build and grow industry partnerships, aligning training with real employer needs and creating clearer pathways from the classroom to careers.
Just as important, this grant has elevated the visibility of the College and the value of technical education in our region. The Metallica Scholars designation has helped raise WGTC’s profile across the community, attracting additional interest and support from employers and partners who want to be connected to a proven, high-impact workforce initiative. As a result, the program not only supports students directly—it also strengthens and expands the industry partnerships that create clear, career-focused pathways from the classroom to the workforce.
