West Georgia Technical College Names Terri Brooks Director of Economic Development

Tbrooks Head Shot (002)LAGRANGE, GA – West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) has appointed Terri Brooks as Director of Economic Development. In this role, Brooks will support and advance the College’s non-credit workforce training initiatives, working closely with regional business and industry partners to deliver customized training solutions that address evolving workforce needs.

Brooks brings a strong background in workforce-connected education and community engagement. She began her career at WGTC in Adult Education, where she developed lasting partnerships throughout the region and gained valuable insight into the workforce challenges facing local employers. Her experience within the College and her understanding of industry collaboration uniquely positions her to serve in this role.

WGTC’s Economic Development Division provides high-quality, on-demand training tailored to meet the needs of local industries. The division partners with employers to upskill current employees, support onboarding efforts, and enhance workplace performance through flexible, customized training programs delivered across the College’s seven-county service area.

“I look forward to working with our business and community partners to build pathways that strengthen the skills of employees already in the workforce,” said Brooks. “This work is essential to the future of our communities, and I am proud to be part of it.”

The division proudly serves a wide range of industry partners, including Delta Ground Support Equipment, Kia Georgia, Hyundai Transys, Nestlé Purina, Kimberly-Clark, Trident Seafoods, Ed Miniat LLC, Remington Arms, Duracell, and many others throughout the region.

Steve Cromer, Vice President of Economic Development at WGTC, welcomed Brooks into the position.
