Graduation Application Information

• Click on the Degree Progress Tile – view audit 
• Degree Works has your current-declared program listed at the top. It also has any embedded certificates you are eligible for (please scroll down the page). If you have any questions about what program(s) you qualify for, please reach out to your faculty advising coach or the registrar’s office: registrar@westgatech.edu.

• A separate application and fee of $40 are required for each degree or diploma. Students who are pursuing a degree or diploma program that has embedded certificates built into the requirements will not be required to pay the $40 fee for those embedded certificates. 

• The graduation fee is non-refundable, and it is payable to the business office cashier after a student submits an application for graduation. Students will receive an email to their student email once their graduation application has been processed, and then they may pay the fee online via self-service Banner Web, over the phone with the cashier at 770-537-5701, or by visiting the cashier at one of the WGTC campuses. This fee will cover the cost of graduation activities and processing of the degree or diploma; the fee does not cover the cost of the cap and gown. 

At graduation, you will receive a diploma cover. Your actual award will come to you electronically via email about two-to-four weeks after the ceremony. If you are graduating with a degree or diploma, a paper copy will be mailed to you via Parchment (third-party vendor) after that and can take up to eight weeks to arrive at the address listed in our system.

• Degrees – Students earning an Associate Degree will receive a printed copy via mail and a digital award from Parchment.
• Diplomas – Students earning a Diploma will receive a printed copy via mail and a digital award from Parchment.
• Certificates – Students earning a Certificate will receive a digital award from Parchment.

By filling out the Change of Address form with Admissions.  

• The Award Replacement form is for students who have graduated in previous semesters whose credentials have already been awarded. If you graduated after 2021, first check to see if you can retrieve the award from your student email. If you cannot login to your student email, fill out a Helpdesk Request.

• If you graduated with a degree or diploma and need another paper copy of your award, fill out the Award Replacement form and pay the $25 to the cashier. Email registrar@westgatech.edu confirming payment. Your request will be processed after that. A virtual diploma will be delivered to the email address that you put on the form, but it can take about a month to receive a paper copy in the mail. 

• If you graduated with a certificate and cannot locate the credential link in your student email, fill out the Award Replacement form and pay the $25 to the cashier. Email registrar@westgatech.edu  confirming payment. Your award will be sent as a digital copy only to the email you provide.
